MT2 and MT2MS are a small size low power stand-alone control device which can control both two bipolar and two unipolar stepper motors (i.e. 8 and 4 lead motors, and 6 lead center tapped motors) and their respective limit/home detection sensors (one for each axis, with programmable polarity).
This model is managed by a serial interface (RS232) with a dedicated protocol. It is possible to set out the motor rotation speed (from 18 up to 500 micro-step/second, in case of MT2MS version or from 35 up to 1000 half-step/second, in case of MT2 version). The rotation speed is not linearly reached: acceleration and deceleration follow a profile optimizing the motor supplied couple.
Although this system were conceived mainly to control finite rotation movements, they can also work with direct cycle motors and, for instance, they can also be used as speed control device.
The card has small dimensions (80 x 60 x 15 mm - about 2,36 x 3,15 x 0,59 inch) and can be connected directly to stepper motors with nominal current up to 0,75A.
MT2
Speed: from 35 up to 1000 half-step/second.
Input voltage: 7 - 15 VDC (unregulated).
Current consumption: 60 mA @ 12 Vdc (plus motor and auxiliary exit consumption).
Output current: max 0,6A/ph (1,2A of peak).
MT2MS
Speed: from 18 up to 500 micro-step/second.
Input voltage: 7 - 15 VDC (unregulated).
Current consumption: 60 mA @ 12 Vdc (plus motor and auxiliary exit consumption).
Output current: max 0,75A/ph (0,85A of peak).
MT2MS is equipped with PWM current control system on motor phases.
This device can reach a movement precision of 1/8 of step
